OUTCOME BASED FUNCTIONAL TRAINING

We define fitness as “the ability to do a task.” And believe that all effective training programs follow a progression. Each individual’s starting point and objectives are different and therefore, training methods, volume, intensity and frequency must be different. One size does NOT fit all and our training reflects this.

CLASSES AND ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING

Located just south of Downtown Salt Lake City, our 8,000 square foot training facility provides the proving grounds for our Salt Lake City members and the testing ground for our programs and methodologies. We have a variety of classes, each led by one of our in-house certified instructors to help you reach your goals and push beyond your mental and physical barriers. We believe in providing a supportive atmosphere that teaches you to take ownership, execute to the highest standards and conquer fear and self-doubt.

SEMINARS AND EXPERIENCES

At Gym Jones, we believe that community and experiences are integral to who we are. We have a three-part seminar series culminating in an internship for those who are interested in diving deep into not just the “why” of what we do, but the “how.” We also have an event series for those who are interested in getting a taste of our community and crave a more intimate experience in a disconnected world. We take risks, push boundaries and are committed to inspiring others. Join us.

Gymjones.com is the gathering place for our online community. We have a number of membership options that allow you to participate in the Gym Jones lifestyle and community if you do not live in Salt Lake City. NUTRITION


At Gym Jones, we believe that nutrition is one of the pillars of optimal health and physical performance. For this reason, we provide the option for an initial nutrition consultation as well as the option to work with our in-house nutrition coach with weekly check-ins. We also have nutrition coaching as a Working Against Gravity affiliate HERE.

LISA BOSHARD

Lisa named Gym Jones. She guards the image. She screens the clients. Sets policy and sets an example of dedication, effort, continuing education, and above all, compassion. A student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kali, and Muay Thai, she protects and defends our people as well. Lisa sees the best in us, what we could become, and pushes us toward that goal. The project and its people have grown under her care and guidance.

JAKE HUTCHINSON

Jake Hutchinson is one of our Lead Seminar Instructors and a Technical Advisor. His areas of expertise include mountain rescue, high altitude, and military conditioning. Jake has spent his entire life chasing his passions in mountains and deserts around the world. An Honorably Discharged US Marine NCO, he has spent the last 25 years as a professional avalanche worker, educator skier and climber. He is the former Director of Ski Patrol and Snow Safety at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah and served as the Vice President of Wasatch Backcountry Rescue for many years. He is an American Avalanche Association Certified Instructor and currently serves on the AAA governing board as the Certified Instructor Rep. He is currently the Lead Instructor for the American Avalanche Institute, teaching everything from first timers, to high end athletes and custom Military and mountain rescue courses.

MICHAEL HULCHER

As a former art director and creative professional, Michael brings a unique perspective to Gym Jones. In 2010 Michael decided to leave the art world behind to pursue his passion for fitness and realize his dream of becoming a Gym Jones Certified Instructor. After years of trial and error, learning, sacrifice and hard work, Michael eventually made his way to Salt Lake City, Utah and completed the Certified Instructor program and became a Certified Gym Jones Instructor in 2016. Now, as a member of the staff at Gym Jones, Michael finally has the opportunity to combine his two passions – training at Gym Jones and the art, photography and messaging that’s made it an industry leader for over a decade.

JAELYN WOLF

Jaelyn comes to us with a breadth of experience both in and out of the fitness industry. She has been a competitive athlete for most of her life, from Snowboarding to Crossfit to Jiujitsu. She completed her Master’s in Architecture in 2017 and has since switched courses to get back into Health and Fitness, joining us as head of strategic partnerships and wellness director. She encourages a holistic approach to training, emphasizing nutrition, stress reduction, recovery, mobility and sleep. She believes in using the gym as a tool to safely push the limits of what we are physically and mentally capable of so that those lessons can be applied to life and sport outside of the gym. She strives to live authentically and passionately while operating from a place of empathy and helping others be the best versions of themselves.
